Hometown Hero Outdoors was founded by a group of military veterans and law enforcement officers. All volunteers are veterans and/or law enforcement as well, with this being a 100% volunteer organization, no one receives a paycheck, from the field staff to the president. What that means to the community that supports them is that every dollar raised or gear donated goes directly into supporting the very important mission of HHO.
Hometown Hero Outdoors started in October, 2017 with the hopes of bridging the gap between the law enforcement and military communities. Both of these groups face very unique hardships, but the founders of HHO discovered one thing that the majority could relate to. That is getting together in the outdoors with like minded individuals to build camaraderie and a family that anyone can turn to in a time of need. These outdoor adventures know no bounds and range from hunting, fishing, camping, and many other outdoor activities. Although the staff are not licensed therapists, some have dubbed these outdoor activities as a form of “recreational therapy”.
